Teeth Whitening

Despite our best efforts to keep our smiles bright and clean, teeth can become stained by coffee, tea, wine, soda, and berries. Even the natural aging process can contribute to the discoloration of your smile. One whitening procedure can take years off of your smile and brighten your teeth up to 10 shades. We offer take-home whitening so you can receive gradual results in the comfort of your own home. Our custom take-home whitening kits provide a more subtle, natural-looking treatment over time. Follow our doctors' instructions and your teeth will become gradually brighter over the course of 2-3 weeks.

Bonding, Shaping, and Contouring

Dental bonding is extremely versatile as it can correct most minor cosmetic flaws. This includes chips, gaps, slightly crooked teeth, and misshapen or worn-down teeth. This treatment is completely non-invasive and does not require drilling or the removal of any enamel from your teeth. Because there is no drilling required, it is a relatively quick treatment, allowing for multiple teeth to be bonded and reshaped in one single appointment.

Once a dental resin is perfectly matched to your teeth, it will be shaped, sculpted, and hardened in place to perfect your smile. Bonding is more affordable than alternative treatments like veneers and crowns, so it is a good option for cosmetic treatment on a budget.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, tooth-shaped dental prostheses that are placed over the front side of your teeth. They are made out of a porcelain ceramic material that looks and feels just like a natural tooth. Veneers are a versatile cosmetic treatment that can cover gaps, chips, discoloration, and small or misshapen teeth. Additionally, veneers are stain-resistant so your smile will continue to look bright and radiant long after treatment!

The placement process is minimally-invasive and only requires the removal of a small amount of enamel to prepare the existing teeth. This ensures that your veneers fit securely for a seamless improvement. Veneers provide an even, uniform look for a flawless smile.

Have Questions?

How Long Does Whitening Last?

With proper care, your whitening treatment can last for years to come! The effects of your whitening treatment will last longer if you avoid habits like smoking and drinking dark beverages like coffee and wine. Also, coming back to our office for regular cleanings will help prevent surface stains from discoloring your teeth.

Over-the-Counter vs. Professional Whitening

Over-the-counter options, such as white strips, are affordable and readily available at many stores, but they may actually cause damage in the long run. Because the strip may not be the right size for your teeth, it is hard to control where the whitening agent goes. The whitening agent is not meant to be applied to your gums because this can cause sensitivity and discomfort. Plus, whitening toothpastes and charcoal options can be abrasive, leading to damage to your enamel.

With a professional whitening treatment, one of our skilled doctors will create a customized whitening kit based on your needs and teach you proper application techniques to ensure your teeth are whitened properly and safely.

Do Veneers Require Special Care?

To care for your veneers, simply continue to brush and floss normally and see Dr. Olness or Dr. Jake for regular exams and cleanings. While veneers do not require any special care, it is important to avoid chewing non-food items with your veneers. This includes using your teeth as tools to open packages and biting nails as this can damage your beautiful, new smile.
